What do I need to know about if I want a Skip in the road?
We cannot leave skips or containers on the public footpath or roadway without a licence from the county council highway authority.
What does a skip licence cost?
The hirer is responsible for the charge from Surrey County Council or other local authority.
Who applies for the licence?
Britaniacrest Recycling will complete all the necessary paperwork and apply for the skip or container on your behalf. Unfortunately we cannot guarantee the Council will approve the request.
What are the conditions for having a skip on the public highway?
Skips and containers must be clearly marked and cones placed in the road with lighting at night. Britaniacrest will provide the hirer with cones and lights but it is their responsibility to ensure they are in place and working.
What is the total cost?
Britaniacrest will advise you when your come to place your order.
It is illegal to dispose of asbestos in an open skip. We can collect or receive asbestos at our site with prior notification.
Car type batteries contain acids, they should not be put into bins.
Computer Monitors & TVs?
We can accept by prior arrangement, not in mixed loads.
These items should be dismantled/made safe before disposal.
Fridges and Freezers?
These need to be degassed before disposal through a licensed facility. This can be arrange through Britaniacrest by prior arrangement.
These should be returned to the suppliers agent and not put into skips.

Oils and Fats?
Unfortunately Britaniacrest cannot accept liquid waste or sludge.
Plasterboard can no longer be mixed with other wastes. Britaniacrest can accept it if it is kept separate. It is then sent to be recycled into new plasterboard.
Tyres should not be put into mixed waste skips. Please contact us for options.
